Dr. Nav Rattan chosen to be the Chief Medical Officer for the 2019 Canada Winter Games in Red Deer

Dr. Rattan has been practicing Sport Medicine in Red Deer for the past 29 years and holds a Diploma in Sport & Exercise Medicine from the Canadian Academy of Sport & Exercise Medicine. In addition to his family practice at Horizon Family Medicine, and as a consultant for the Athletic and Musculoskeletal Injury, he also works at the Brent Sutter Sport Medicine Clinic at Central Alberta Orthopedics as a Consultant Musculoskeletal Specialist. He also has a certificate of competency as a leader in the Field of Sport & Exercise Medicine from the Canadian College of Family Physicians.

In early February 2014, four family physicians from Horizon Family Medicine travelled to Haiti for one week to help in the medical efforts currently provided through a local medical clinic sponsored by Haiti Arise. This humanitarian project is part of the ongoing efforts of Horizon Family Medicine in helping to provide relief for Haitians who require basic health care and disease prevention.
